LOCAL PERMITTING CO-ORDINATOR


Summary of Position:

The Local Permitting Coordinator is responsible for developing stepwise procedures to obtain each permit/licence/approval for the project. The individual needs to be able to obtain, review and maintain all permitting information required through project planning, development and operation phases. The Local Permitting Coordinator needs to be proficient in research and have experience in environmental permitting as well as the ability to communicate efficiently with senior executives, management, external partners and stakeholders. 


Key Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Government Agencies/offices to assess the licensing and permitting requirements for each project site
  • Develop deliverable stepwise procedure to obtain each permit/licence
  • Develop project permitting checklists and timelines;
  • Obtain, review and maintain all permitting information required through project planning, development and operation phases;
  • Prepare project permitting documents for Engineering and Project Management teams;
  • Create high-quality static and interactive maps for site analysis, presentation, publication, and plant layouts;
  • Provide spatial planning support;
  • Document detailed land control, project layouts and applicable land use information; 
  • Maintenance and communication of data to produce mapping information integral to project development;
  • Environmental assessment, urban planning, and, such other duties reasonably related thereto as are assigned from time to time.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • University Degree in environmental science, GIS, urban planning or related disciplines;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in planning and implementation of power or Oil & Gas projects, specifically renewable projects (solar PV).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in Russian & Uzbek. Some proficiency is required in English language.
  • Research ability and/or experience in environmental permitting;
  • Proficient in using GIS applications and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven ability to effectively work and communicate with executives, senior management and external partners and stakeholders;
