Local Corporate Liaison

Summary of Position

The Local Corporate Liaison will provide support to the Uzbekistan team, will work in conjunction with the Senior Corporate Liaison Manager and assist in furthering SkyPower’s engagement with governments, multilateral organizations and other key stakeholders in Uzbekistan and Central Asian region. 

Required Skills & Experience

  • University degree or college diploma in Diplomatic Studies, Public Relations, or Communications
  • Minimum of five years of experience working in public affairs, in government or for a multinational agency
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, in Russian, Uzbek and English,
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus in negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Preference will be given to qualified candidates who possess one or more of the following:
    • Experience in the energy sector (Power, Renewable and Oil & Gas)
    • International networking in the given sectors
    • Fluency in other languages

Key Functions & Responsibilities

  • Maintain and promote the Company mission and interest, support the company executives
  • Maintain relationships with local partners, intermediaries and affiliates 
  • Maintain and foster relationships with government officials, media outlets, the local community, business insiders and relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain and open lines of communication with all involved parties, addressing all inquiries and concerns in a proactive, delicate and timely manner
  • Support Uzbekistan Project team in co-ordinating meetings with the government officials and other stakeholders, ensuring that Project team is aware of the norms and sensitivities of various relationships. 
  • Conduct research and have an up-to-date understanding and knowledge of local social issues and current events
  • Conduct on-the-ground interface as a representative of the Company for matters relating to the Uzbekistan Project coordination and implementation
  • Prepare regular update reports and presentations for the executive team of the company 
  • Bridge the communication gap between external stakeholders and SkyPower, ensuring that all correspondence is accurately presented in the relevant languages
  • Work with SkyPower’s Uzbekistan, Toronto and international teams in order to document and track all government meetings, sensitive government decrees, produce monthly report and maintain external contact list with a stringent focus on high level and mid level officials
  • Maintain external contact list with important National dates, Birthdays and celebrations, natural to local customs; and notifying in advance the Head office
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required
